I had the opportunity to spend a night at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur not very long ago. Owned by the prestigious YTL Hotel Group, the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur promised a level of luxury that I hoped would live up to the name.
I was put up in the Colonial Suite in the Majestic Wing, the old wing of the hotel as it were. The check in is performed in room, and the rooms are accessible by a separate and private lift, through the Colonial Cafe. The concierge was waiting for me when I arrived at the appointed time, and the lift to the rooms are accessible using a key card system. Even visitors are cleared first by a phone call to the room. I appreciated that level of privacy they offered!
The butler takes you through the room, which is a one bedroom suite. The living room area is large and plush, but I found the bedroom a little small. It fit one very large King-sized bed which was very plush and comfortable, but the room itself felt small. There is a TV in room, and you’d be advised to keep the windows closed, because the view is over a messy backyard of neighbouring buildings.
There is a sliding wardrobe with the usual amenities – bathrobes, slippers, iron, hair-dryer, safe etc.
